Department of finance

The Department educates Bachelors in Finance. A bachelor is provided with the fundamental education, the foundations of the professional knowledge and is able to either start working or to complete his education at the level of the Master of Finance.

The specialists of the highest education and qualification level are trained under the Master curriculum in "Public Finance Management" (the Finance speciality). Since the department has the status of a graduation department, the subjects of master theses are developed and approved here together with methodological recommendations on the work. The scientific mentoring is also organised here. The Master theses are presented by students to the state examination commissions consisting of experienced researchers and teachers recommended by the department.

Finance

Course goal is to form basic knowledge of financial theory and understanding of macro- and micro-level financial relationships

The course aim is to provide students with the tools, and the skills to use these tools, to understand the underlying concepts and practical tradeoffs entailed in the essence and the role of Finance in a market economy, historical tendencies of their development and theory of Public Finance, Corporate Finance, International Finance and financial markets

Fiscal Policy

Course goal is to explain and disclose theoretical and practical issues of fiscal policy development and implementation as a component of financial and macroeconomic policy.

The course aim is to provide students with the fiscal adjustment and policy tools; to apply the acquired knowledge in the analysis of tax and budget system, structure and effectiveness of budget revenue and expenditure, basic macro-financial forecasting and macroeconomic indicators; to study the peculiarities of customs policy in terms of internationalization and globalization of economic relations

Ukraine Financial Thought

Course goal is to learn and form creative thinking of the main stages and characteristics of the current state of financial thought Ukraine in the context of critical analysis of the scientific achievements of scientists, financiers Ukraine.

This course teaches students how the evolution of Ukraine financial thought, the most prominent economic views of national financial thought representatives, basic schools, trends, areas of financial thought in Ukraine; to apply the acquired knowledge in the analysis of financial phenomena and explain the relationship between financial facts, financial history and financial opinion

Public Credit

Course goal is the formation of basic knowledge in the public credit institution, the need for debt financing, credit management in the context of macro-financial stability.

The course aim is to provide students with the tools, and the skills to use these tools, to understand the underlying concepts and practical tradeoffs entailed in the basic principles of Public credit; to identify the advantages and disadvantages of public debt financing; to own techniques and methods of credit management to ensure debt sustainability; and the credit management in the context of macro-financial stability

Budget System

Course goal is the formation of knowledge on the budget system and its construction: in theoretical terms to form knowledge in Public and Local finances; in terms of application - lay the basic knowledge on budget cycle and budget indicators assessment.

The course aim is to provide students with the tools, and the skills to use these tools, to understand the underlying concepts and practical tradeoffs entailed in the methods and sources of government revenue and forms of government expenditure, deficit funding; to see into terms of local and public debt

Tax System

The course goal– to provide theoretical knowledge on the content of the tax system, in construction principles and patterns of development; mechanisms of taxes in their relationship.

This knowledge will enable students navigate freely in the tax principles, tax calculation, understand the nature and trends of tax administration

Financial Infrastructure

The course goal - the formation of basic knowledge in the institutional financial infrastructure operation and interaction, the study features of their growth and development.

This course teaches students how to navigate in issues of the nature, functions and construct

Macro-financial Analysis

The course goa -  the development in students the knowledge of theoretical foundations of the analysis and practical skills in the use of quantitative methods and techniques during the study and evaluation of economic phenomena and processes in the field of finance at the macro level, the acquisition of skills for economic interpretation of the results and the development of management decisions on Financial, Budget and Tax Policy

From this science you will learn to think about an economy as the result of the interactions between four different sectors and you will learn how to disentangle complex economic developments into pieces that are easier to analyze

Interdisciplinary Training

The training goal - to consolidate knowledge and practical skills acquired during the study, to inform with the current financial system, to assess the public financial sustainability, the stability of business, to carry out assessment of the financial and insurance sectors.

Interdisciplinary training is an integral part of the educational process and important means of training qualified specialists for financial governance, insurance, audit companies, enterprises and an integral part of mastering future finance professionals

The capacity of the tax system depends on the tax administration valid. This is a very complicated issue that requires highly skilled personnel, able to participate in the development of tax laws, to tax planning, as well as control over the correct calculation and timely tax payment to the budget

This course teaches students how to navigate in the financial relations between the central, local government and management, local enterprise, community and their use in the practice of financial work; features of local budgets implementation; the system of economic and political ties between local and central governments

Interdisciplinary Training in the Public Finance Management

Provides an opportunity for students to consolidate and deepen the theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired during their study Bachelor’s and Master’s degree courses. After the training sessions, Master's students continue to acquire practical experience in financial and fiscal authorities

• Macro-financial Risk Management

The course goal.Thus, the primary course goals is to form knowledge on the organization and functioning of financial risk management at the macro level, as well as practical skills obtained in the management of public financial resources.

Moreover, the course aimis to provide students with the tools, and the skills to use these tools, to understand the underlying concepts and practical tradeoffs entailed in public risk management alternatives

Macro-financial Planning

The course goal.Thus, the primary course goal is to provide students with the tools, and the skills to use these tools, to understand the underlying concepts and practical tradeoffs entailed in public financial resources planning alternatives. This will prepare students to be informed consumers of public financial planning data, and thus, equip students to engage constructively in the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of macro-financial planning

Public Financial Control (Finance Department)

The training goal- to provide students with knowledge on public control and audit necessary in the financial governance

This course teaches students the nature of financial control, its types and forms, principles of its organization; how to own techniques and methods of control and government expenditure monitoring; eliminating overlap and duplication in public financial control

The course goal- formation of students with theoretical knowledge and methodology of scientific research and practical skills to use general and specific methods of financial research.
