Education at the KNEU Faculty of Finance is distinguished by its practical orientation and the active involvement of leading companies in the educational process. This also means that graduates of the faculty are highly desirable employees for the financial services of these companies.

An example of such cooperation is the active involvement of the Controlling Department of NPC Ukrenergo (headed by a graduate of the faculty) in training specialists for the "Corporate Finance and Controlling" educational program. In May of this year, senior students visited NPC Ukrenergo to familiarize themselves with the specifics of the company's financial services, as well as the methods and tools used to solve its operational and strategic tasks.

A team of leading experts from the company shared their experience and practical insights with the students: Valeriia Haidai, Head of the Controlling Department of NPC Ukrenergo, and the heads of the department's structural divisions, Serhiy Alieksieienko and Illia Koval.

During the meeting, students gained a clear understanding of the real functionality of controlling, the scope of analytical tasks, and opportunities for professional competency development. The Q&A session, which lasted significantly longer than the main lecture, sparked particular interest among the students. Future specialists actively inquired about the specifics of daily analytics, modern financial planning tools, and real job selection criteria.

Ukrenergo representatives expressed a particular interest in the graduates and announced their intention to offer internships to many students. This is a real chance for our senior students to transform the knowledge gained at the university into practical experience and begin their professional journey within the team that ensures Ukraine's energy stability.

The future financiers attended the event together with the Head of the Department of Corporate Finance and Controlling at KNEU, O. Tereshchenko.

To gain a deeper understanding of the applied specifics of corporate finance and controlling within the company, students were assigned a real case study developed based on the enterprise's data. Formed into mini-groups, the students had one week to solve the case, after which they presented their recommendations to experts from Ukrenergo. The best proposals for the task were prepared by a team consisting of Oleksandra Danovych, Iryna Haichenia, and Anna Ovdiienko. The winners received not only bonus points in the "Applied Corporate Finance" discipline but also valuable prizes from Ukrenergo's Controlling Department.

Yuliia Zakharchuk, a representative of the company's Human Resources Directorate, shared that NPC Ukrenergo offers the Energy Hub internship program for students. This project has been running successfully at the company for seven years, and selection is currently underway for the next cohort of a six-month paid internship. Last year, as part of the Energy Hub program, the company organized internships for 30 young specialists, 21 of whom received and accepted full-time employment offers. We highly recommend that students do not miss this wonderful opportunity for professional development and try their hand at an enterprise as critically important to Ukraine as NPC Ukrenergo.
