The selection criteria for the Erasmus+ programme at Philipps-Universität Marburg include the following:
• Academic performance: Candidates must have a good academic record, with high grades in relevant courses and an average score of over 85 out of 100. • Language skills: As the University of Marburg is located in Germany, proficiency in English and/or German is required. Applicants need a certificate with a language level of B2 or higher. • Relevance of the study programme: The study programme proposed by the candidate must be in line with the offerings of the University of Marburg and must also be relevant to the candidate's academic and research interests. • Motivation and goals: Applicants must articulate their motivations for studying at the University of Marburg and explain how this experience fits with their academic and career goals. All students are required to submit motivation letters. • Humanitarian reasons related to the war in Ukraine: Particular consideration may be given to candidates who have suffered as a result of the war in Ukraine, e.g. death of a family member (mother/father), destroyed apartment/house or disability.
The selection process includes a review of the candidates' application materials by the selection committee. The committee evaluates each candidate based on the established criteria and conducts interviews on 17 May 2024. After that, German colleagues evaluate the candidates, and Erasmus+ Team Marburg informs about its decision on the admission of students. The nomination by KNEU does not guarantee a place at Philipps-Universität Marburg - the final decision rests with Erasmus+ Team Marburg.
