Due DiligenceThe Department of Corporate Finance and Controlling offers students an elective course Due Diligencein cooperation with one of the biggest auditing companies KPMG. Leading industry experts from Ukraine and Germany will be invited as key speakers. After completion of the course students will receive a participation certificate from KPMG and KNEU, the best students team will be invited to present its research results in the main office of KPMG in Kiev. The course will include a wide range of case studies and practical examples from real life business. The goal of the course - getting basic knowledge and practical skills in due diligence with the understanding of M&A processes and key valuation concepts.The course is oriented on students who strive to pursue career in investment banking, private equity, hedge fund or corporate development. Students will learn to understand the transaction process from a variety of angles, including those of a buyer, a seller and a consultant. The course will take students step by step through a process of a transaction, and will help to understand the motives of the parties involved, stages of the due diligence projects (with a focus on financial and strategic aspects), valuations in analyzed cases, and recent trends in M&A and PE transactions.The impact of due diligence findings on the perceived fair valuation of a company will be discussed, as well as the application of appropriate valuation techniques and transaction structures.
