Prospects for Cooperation with the Department of Finance and Control at Georg-August University of Göttingen14 October 2024р.

During a working visit in early October, as part of ongoing cooperation projects, the Head of the Department of Corporate Finance and Controlling, Prof. Oleg Tereshchenko, engaged in discussions with a long-time partner, Prof. Dr. Stefan Dierkes, Head of the Department of Finance and Control at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. The discussions focused on prospects for scientific collaboration and enhancing the educational process in master's programs such as Financial Management and Controlling, and Investment Management. As a result, a roadmap for a double degree program in the Master’s program in Financial Management and Controlling was agreed upon.

Prof. Dirkes reviewed the content of the educational programs and noted the potential for introducing a double degree program. Additionally, he suggested including a course on "Corporate Valuation" in the curriculum.

This course would target master’s students enrolled in the Financial Management and Controlling and Investment Management programs, as well as Ph.D. candidates in Finance, Banking, Insurance, and Stock Markets (specialty 072). The German side also expressed readiness to provide active methodological support and to conduct a block seminar within the course.

Moreover, the idea of implementing a multicultural educational project was discussed, where students from four countries—Germany, Belgium, Estonia, and Ukraine (University of Göttingen, Ghent University, University of Tartu, and Vadym Hetman KNEU)—would participate in a joint seminar.

It is worth noting that the Department of Corporate Finance at KNEU has a long-standing partnership with colleagues from the University of Göttingen, formalized through a memorandum of cooperation. Colleagues from Göttingen have previously provided methodological support in developing courses such as Financial Controlling and Operational Controlling. Graduates of the Financial Management and Controlling program, such as Kateryna Shchukina, have already experienced receiving diplomas from both universities, while master's students from Göttingen, like Henrietta Wolter, participated in academic mobility programs at KNEU.

Both parties agreed to intensify their cooperation across all areas—curriculum design, research, and education.
